Until the last paragraph, I was not all that curious, but pray tell me what you mean by 'obvious cycle of life and death' because as far as I know, it is a staircase, and life is a foyer. (in my opinion). I do not believe the events repeat themselves, there are patterns, yes, but it is not a cycle.
